Artist's Comments

And... another.

I noted that we had a pretty amazing sunset last night, so I decided to take a punt on an early start, despite the fact that it's Saturday.

Critiques

:icontheangryuser:
Hello, this is my first critique, but to start, I wish to tell you that this is a magnificent photograph and I am very surprised no one has posted a critique for this one yet. I really love the mood of the picture.

The colors are just beautiful and look almost unnatural. One thing that catches my eye is how the sky in the left side of the photograph becomes almost overexposed, which is something that I really like.

The only reason why I gave you three and a half stars in the technique and four in the originality is because the reef was a bit out of focus and because I would of liked to see a bit more of sky. For example, the photograph could of ended at the first rock (from the top) instead of the second one, a very good trade off for some more of that beautiful sky!

All in all, I really love this picture and hope you'll make many more like these as they are truly astonishing and out of this world.

On a personal note, I hope you didn't find my critique too hard.

Keep on shooting! :)

Great shots, Michael. I'm jealous. It's supposed to be raining here in the morning.

Thanks mate. The way today has panned out, you could have never picked that the sunrise was like that. It's really miserable here as well.

But I have to go shoot pictures of a cross country run in the morning. Maybe I'll look for the muddiest chick and put her in the paper.

I assume the honeymoon isn't over with the D300.

I think my favorite thing about this is the color transition in the water.

It's a great shot.
I just wish I knew why some do not include exif.
It's just one feature I like to guess what's used and then confirm or learn more. But maybe it's the software used that wipes it from image data.
